The main cause of eczema is overreaction of the immune system. Identifying certain foods, chemicals, etc can be very helpful in battling this disease. I try to avoid soy and milk products which trigger my flare-ups.
After using number of prescription drugs I've turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease - the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.
References :
my life experience

I've had terrible eczema on my legs my whole life, and there are two creams I have used that are unlike all the others.

One is exorex , but I wouldn't recommend it considering it's mustard smell & $100.00 price for a tube.

Then, the other is Triamcinolone Acetonide. Personally, for me it works great. Better then anything else in fact. I've tried everything and using this for a week or so clears it up really well. But then of course comes the scars that are left in it's wake, and for that, I use (it sounds crazy but) vaseline cream, baby oil, vitamin E capsules AND a regular unscented lotion. In a couple weeks, my eczema looks soo much better.

Hope it helps(:
References :
eczema sufferer for 16 years.

Hi, you can try one of the natural treatments available on the internet (just google "natural treatment of eczema") – some of them do work. For my eczema I use herbal cream by Champori quite successfully. It takes just a couple of weeks to clear the spots and then they stay clear for months on end.
Try it: Champori comes with money back guarantee so if it doesn't work - it's free.
Cheers,

I used to have really intense eczema along my torso. Staying moisturized is key. As far as prescription go, topical triamcinolone Acetonide worked incredibly well for my worst cases. I would try the home remedy route first. It might work for you.

Nowadays, I moisturize, moisturize moisture. Nivea cream has been a life saver. For days when my skin got itchy, I used Dermarest for Eczema and the itch was gone (this best part is this stuff is only 10 bucks). I read somewhere vitamin C was great for the skin, so experimented and tried exfoliating my eczema prone areas with vitamin C tablets in the shower. Yeah, sounds a little weird but I haven't had an eczema break out in a few years. I saw results in days! Vitamin C pills come as cheap as 2 bucks a bottle, so you can't beat it.

Whatever you do, good luck and stay moisturized!
References :
Me. Had years of bad eczema!

Tell ya what. I noticed a patch of ringworm on my left shoulder..my back( I know that is a fungus like Jock Itch and Athletes Foot) I looked and looked for an anti fungal body wash so I could get some form of medication on that area on a regular basis. Know what...I could not find one. I asked my pharmacist if there was one and she said that the active ingredient in the dandruff shampoo Nizoral (ketoconazole 1%) was also antifungal....google the ingredient, please.

I started using Nizoral as a body wash and my ringworm cleared up but also the antibacterial properties of ketoconazole began to clear up other minor skin issues..like flaky patches and general dryness.

So I do not have eczema but as a redhead who spent far too much time in the sun in my reckless youth, this Nizoral stuff helped me. I also noticed that if I used one of those scrubby type things rather than a wash cloth, that seemed to exfoliate better and made my skin look better generally.

Might be worth a try.....OH, I tried not to completely rinse the Nizoral off my ringwormy shoulder.

As a plan B........try liquid Tea Tree Oil Soap

Good Luck
References :
Well, eczema is simply very dry skin, so you need to moisturize it. Sun might actually make your condition worse. I would certainly see a dermatologist, they can help you better than anyone. I had eczema once and I got a prescription for betamethasone, which I believe is the most effective and common remedy. You do need a prescription to get it, and the correct dosage will need to be prescribed by a dermatologist. Ask one about it; it helped clear me up in under 2 weeks and I hope it works for you!
References :
Past experience
